Playdate SDK bitmap fonts

The built-in bitmap font resources were provided as part of the Playdate SDK by Panic, Inc. Individual creators are identified in accompanying README or notes files where supplied by the SDK.

The retained families are Asheville, Bitmore, Crooked Park, Cuberick, Full Circle, Mikodacs-Clock, Newsleak Serif, Nontendo, Oklahoma, Pedallica, Quickboot, Rains, Roobert, and Sasser Slab.

Supplied creator notes credit Nontendo’s font design to Shaun Inman, with an incomplete Asheville port by Greg Maletic. Rains is a tribute to Lyle Rains’s type for the 1976 arcade game Sprint 2. The extended Roobert fonts use Japanese glyphs from LINE Seed JP_OTF.

They are used under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International. Font Workshop may repackage, resize, adjust spacing, or otherwise convert these resources, so generated packages are not necessarily identical to the SDK originals.

Open-license outline fonts

The built-in scalable sources are Cairopixel, Dogica, Pixel Operator, Pixeloid Sans, and Press Start 2P. Their bundled SIL Open Font License 1.1 or CC0 notices are included in every applicable downloaded Font Workshop package.
